  • Can you please describe the contents of the video for those of us who do not want to waste our companies' bandwidth on streaming video?

  • some stupid chick isn't grasping the concept of rainbows and believes the government or whoever is putting substances in her water which create rainbows. (because according to her, those are limited to the sky)

  • Thanks

That's pretty funny. I can't say I've ever heard of someone being paranoid over rainbows before... Good find.

I alsofind this video to be a good laugh. But: In what aspect does it represent a "Curious Perversion in Information Technology", qualifying it for a post on this site? Please fill me in.

Exactly, like the FUNNY STUFF forum on this same site. You don't even have to travel far and away to another domain.

  • We have a "Funny Stuff" forum for lolcats stuff like this.  Can a moderator please move this there?  Much appreciated.

  • no, stuff like this is exactly what the sidebar is for.  the funny stuff forum is "Not exactly a WTF, but not a LOLCAT either"...  when i watched that video, my response was definitely "WTF?!", not "teehee".

anyway, this was my old username...  i just never bothered regsitering again after all the accounts were wiped.

It's debatable, but "Funny Stuff" was created for all the obnoxious, Digg-like link dumping to videos and other such content.  "Sidebar" is really more for personal stories and anecdotes.

Hmmm.  AmmoQ categorised them based on the intention of humour.  ie "Sidebar" for unintentional humour, "Funny" for intentional.  Whilst this falls into the former category, I think it's implicit from the website name that all content has to be at least vaguely IT related, not random like this.  The "more things than just code" I understand is a very dated throwback to when the site's articles were all code-related (before the diversity into various tales, anecdotes, pop-up errors, etc etc).

Certainly, personally, I'd prefer to come to this site and find IT-related stupidity and humour, not random stupidity and humour.

As I said above, I also think it's important to take into account the content and the OP's relation to it.  A story from the OP's life, even if non-technical, can be a good WTF.  A link to some silly video that the OP had nothing to do with is not really a WTF.  For the most part, video probably is always going to qualify as "Funny Stuff".

Fair point (and our posts overlapped - I was distracted for a few moments while typing my reply). And in fairness I did actually find this post rather funny.
    Move to Funny Stuff.

  • I agree it's not technical in the strictest sense.. but there is a vague link..

I found it reading the blog of Graham Linehan - who writes the IT Crowd TV show in the UK.

He's just finished writing the third series and you lucky Americans out there are to getting this too - albeit with those funny accents of yours ;-)

Quango -- please start a new thread, since that's a completely different topic.  That way your post will get the most exposure and not be buried elsewhere within another topic.  It also helps to give good, somewhat descriptive names when creating a new thread rather than just "funny stuff!!" or things like that.
