The game is out on mobile devices and is from the developer of Oxenfree.
Anybody playing it? Kinda cool.

Could've always bought, backed up, refunded and restored, but though ehh... might as well give them the $3.

We're all halfway through season 2. It's only like 7 episodes so far or something.
I don't think there any spoilers. You basically find a phone and ppl keep texting you.

I feel like the game is set in season one right now, so pretty sure no spoilers. Maybe later in the game.

Yeah, I'm only up to like s2e2 because of TI. I need to catch up.
I also need to catch up on battlebots, which I think is over now?
EDIT: Oh wow, Battlebots took a break for the Olympics! I'm not behind I think!

@JazzyJosh I found the S1 finale and the first few episodes of S2 a bit disappointing, after a brilliant penultimate episode.

Ditto. I feel like the episode was disappointing because they got renewed; my WMG is that they were going to have a downer ending the episode before, with the whole plot failing, but upon finding out there'd be a season 2 they added another episode with a more upbeat ending so they'd have somewhere to go.
Season 2 episodes are behind a paywall on Prime, so I'm taking a short break before I buy it. Unless it's streaming elsewhere for free?

@Jaloopa Season 2 is? I got to season two and it was asking me to pay, and I have Prime. Maybe I set it up wrong on my Roku?

Just checked on the app and it's saying included with your prime subscription, so I haven't been spending my wife's money on it at least

I hate these stupid private websites that stream stuff, like Cartoon Network's. It's a mini walled garden; who the heck wants to watch stuff on their PC but not on their TV? Better to have it as an extra option. Best to make a deal with someone like Hulu.

@Yamikuronue Just looked at the pricing of SlingTV. $25/month isn't too bad. I'd consider it if my cable wasn't tied into my rent.

@JazzyJosh I looked into that too. It doesn't carry BBC, and you can't DVR anything, but otherwise I'd be all for shedding $60/month in satellite bills.

@Yamikuronue What I find hilarious is you can get some of the channels plus ESPN 1/2, Disney, and
ABC FamilyFreeform for $20, All the channels for $25, but if you want all the channels plus what I listed separately it's $40It has BBC America now, even in the $20 package.

trying to do the patch upload quest, and the fucking moron who can't unzip a zip file signed off for the night. That was 13 hours ago, so maybe I haven't waited long enough, but it definitely shouldn't be taking a week... I think?.
I googled for glitches and a lot of people seemed to be stuck, but it seemed like they were stuck at places where you have to think a little outside the box, so I suspect they just didn't message the right person. A lot of the time it seems like the game timer pauses until you do a certain action, but I don't see any actions to take :(

@Yamikuronue Yeah I am also at this step on the game, I got the automatic message telling me to try again on office time, then nothing more... I tried everything, went to every of the contacts, no options anywhere, and as I said it was 7 days ago :(

Do you have a blue exclamation mark on your Contacts tile? I do, but there's no blue exclamation in the contacts section. I have a guess there's supposed to be a new contact I can message, but I don't have one.

Well, nothing... And I forgot how annoying it was to try to go through all the contact list as when you reach the messages for a contact, there no "Back to contact info" button. So no interaction possible with any contact, I guess I'm stuck :(

Well, I just now received a notification with 89.8% scanning complete... So I don't know if I woke up the app which probably totally forgot me, or if I'm some kind of medium trying to search how to unlock myself right when there's progression.
Other than that, no new interactions with the main people

@Yamikuronue Yeah probably haha ! I'd say the week waiting time may be the reason, but hell it's long ! And I don't get it with where the text story stopped, we should have gone back on the guy the next day...

@IDestinia Yeah. The whole game is supposed to take a week according to the devs, but people have reported completing it in two days, so I doubt it's the week waiting time.
ETA: I clicked a bunch of contacts (not every one, but most of them), clicked the alert, clicked into other tabs, and then I quit the app and let it reload. Let's see if I get a message soon...

I was wondering if they never finished the game... just released enough to get people started.
I ended up backing up my game and starting from scratch, but if you guys are saying it eventually progresses, maybe I should restore and see...
I did contact support about some random little bugs (before I got stuck here), and got this reply:

I also like how there were a few times where you refer to 'E' as Elliot, even though you would have no idea what his name is.

@Yamikuronue I'm pretty sure the game just typecasts you as complete idiot at computers, even if your decision tree could show that you are knowledgeable.

@JazzyJosh I really liked the immersion of asking you to put your name in, so it feels more like it's your phone... but if they wanted you to be "playing" a particular type of person who isn't computer savvy, they should have given you a default name or something so it's more like an RPG

At lunch, I got an alert -- it was another message from 73608. So that explains that discrepancy.
Also, the IT hotline said it was a new contact, but I can't do anything with it. Clicking on it made the ! go away though.

I mean, you have to take as a given you picked a phone up off the street and decided to use it as your own phone now. So.....
