to one of your .htaccess files, will that increase or decrease your trust in them?

rewriting twice makes sure the original version is properly deleted

No, because my old web host responded to a ticket of me asking about them deleting my .htaccess file with "You aren't allowed to modify your htaccess file"
Isn't that for blocking out a few crawlers? There are better ways of doing that than modifying htaccess
I can only guess at the thought process that led to these lines. But yes it looks like Pcore is an HTTP library.
