Still waiting for TI 84.
-
@ben_lubar God has it been a year since the last one already? Jesus.
-
that just happened
-
is that TI 6 or T 16? Not that I care
-
@Jaloopa It happens that it's the sixth event, so both I guess?
-
@Jaloopa TI 6, as TI stands for The International.

I read it as Tl (lowercase L) and was excited for the arrival of Trust Level 6!
Filed Under: Yes, would have been skipped... but maybe @end doesn't like the number 5 or something
-
@ScholRLEA ... like the works of Shakespeare, it's better in the original Russian.
-
Well, apparently that was the first time ever that a team has won a game in TI with all their barracks down.
I don't really play DOTA, or understand it that much, but man, that game was a crazy 20 minutes of nothing happening.
-
The eight remaining teams after today:
Guaranteed at least $506,926:
- Liquid
- Fnatic
- Digital Chaos
- TnC Gaming
Guaranteed at least $912,467:
- EHOME
- MVP Phoenix
Guaranteed at least $2,129,090:
- Evil Geniuses
- The Wings Gaming
The winner of the $8,921,903 1st place prize and the $3,345,714 2nd place prize will be decided on Saturday.
-
By the way, if you missed it, here's the EG vs EHOME game: https://www.twitch.tv/dota2ti/v/82878048?t=4h6m57s

Income from July 2014 to June 2015, according to estimate by Forbes, for Lindsey Stirling:
$6,000,000
Seems like women do just fine. (-ish)

If we're including salaries and that kind of stuff and not just contest earnings, and we're counting an entire year for some women arbitrarily but not for the men even though this isn't the only contest of the year, I bet the woman that got last place was paid more than the woman who got first place.
-
@ben_lubar What if I didn't watch it, but I also didn't miss it?

HARAMBE CONFIRMED NEWEST DOTA 2 HERO

@ben_lubar Is that what you got instead of Half-Life 3? Because that is pretty shitty.
EDIT: wait a minute...
Wow. What a ripoff.

@ben_lubar Yes but that's SMITE's raison d'etre.

Yeah, but DotA had Monkey King as a hidden character, and it's existed since before SMITE, League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth, or Heroes of the Storm were even a thing.

Ok, update on the standings:
Digital Chaos and Evil Geniuses are guaranteed at least $2,160,369. Winning the first best-of-three tomorrow increases their prize money to $3,394,866, and lets them face The Wings Gaming in a best-of-five for the grand prize of $9,052,975.

I missed the opening ceremonies because my badge wasn't working and I had to visit Customer Service. :(
-
@JazzyJosh what were those wristband things people were wearing?
-
@ben_lubar They are by Pixmob. They're controlled by RF. Can take a picture later.

But with the TI logo on them
-
@JazzyJosh So what do they do, other than glow?
-
@FrostCat said in So how about that TI6 opening?:

They're controlled by a central computer, so all of the people in the arena have their wrists flash at the same time, which looks pretty cool.
-
@ben_lubar While that might be cool it certainly seems like a waste of resources of some kind or other.
