Clicking the most recent reply when sort is set to 'upvotes' brings me to the wrong post
-
Steps to reproduce:
- set thread sorting to 'most votes'
- click the most recent reply in the thread from the forum overview page:
Expected results: clicking on the link takes me to the post that was previewed.

@boomzilla More seriously, I guess the topic view should use a postid target instead of a post index url scheme. But...bookmarks...ugh...shit...fuck...I don't know what is best (not in life, that's obviously: Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentations of their women. But I mean...for people foolish enough to change sorting).

@boomzilla are the sorting options a wtdwtf plugin?
-
@bb36e also, I wonder how the 'last read' bookmark changes when you switch sorting modes

No. They're an original misfeature.
Actually, I could sort of see sorting by voting as a positive. But only as a curiosity, not as a way to actually read stuff.

I don't. It's just a number. That represents the last post you read. When you change sorting mode, the ordering / indexing of posts changes according to that. Aside from satisfying curiosity about what's the most upvoted post, there's no reason to use that.
At the risk of , that's an option that users would be better without.

@boomzilla I like it for skimming through some of the flame/long threads because it helps find nice posts. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I hope you push end at some point so you can read posts by the other side of the argument.

@ben_lubar oh I do, I usually upvote most posts in a thread that aren't intentionally terrible :D

Discourse's "Summarize this topic" was kinda good
