Worldview Test

From here:
http://annickdewitt.com/worldviewtest/I'm sure that I'd probably get a different answer every time I took the test (a lot of them were difficult to decide). Warning: you have to supply an email address to get the results, which puts you on her mailing list.
The worldview you identify with most is called modern. Out of 17 questions, you 6 times chose the typical modern perspective as your preferred answer.
The worldview you identify with least is called postmodern. Out of 17 questions, you chose 4 times the postmodern perspective as your least preferred answer.
Learn about your dominant, modern worldview, here.

Hmm.
The worldview you identify with most is called integrative. Out of 17 questions, you 8 times chose the typical integrative perspective as your preferred answer.
The worldview you identify with least is called traditional. Out of 17 questions, you chose 12 times the traditional perspective as your least preferred answer.

Is it smart enough to filter out Mailinator addresses?
Also, "you n times chose"? Must be written by someone for whom English is a second language.
-
@FrostCat I've just tried it; it accepted, but I'm not getting any result sent. Maybe it's slow right now?

Mine came through immediately, but that was to gmail.
-
@boomzilla Hrm. It probably lied to me about accepting my email then. Shame.
-
The worldview you identify with most is called modern. Out of 17 questions, you 10 times chose the typical modern perspective as your preferred answer.
The worldview you identify with least is called traditional. Out of 17 questions, you chose 11 times the traditional perspective as your least preferred answer. This is the first time I've ever used mailinator.

I gave up after 5 questions for this reason. I'd have to actually spend time thinking about some of those answers, to do it right, and I could spend my time more productively making awesome avatars for @blakeyrat that he's probably too stubborn to use.
-
This is why I keep my spam filled hotmail account around:
The worldview you identify with most is called modern. Out of 17 questions, you 7 times chose the typical modern perspective as your preferred answer.
You also scored quite high on the integrative worldview. Out of 17 questions, you 5 times chose the integrative perspective as your preferred answer.
The worldview you identify with least is called traditional. Out of 17 questions, you chose 12 times the traditional perspective as your least preferred answer.

I've found that although some sites are smart enough to filter out mailinator directly, they don't know about its aliases. I don't even bother trying mailinator these days.

A couple of weeks ago I tried signing up to mailing list and it rejected every mailinator alias I tried, so at least someone's onto them.

The worldview you identify with most is called integrative. Out of 17 questions, you 2 times chose the typical integrative perspective as your preferred answer.
The worldview you identify with least is called modern. Out of 17 questions, you chose 4 times the modern perspective as your least preferred answer.Unless I'm mistaken, I would have expected a minimum of three answers for a given perspective.

@boomzilla What even is a "worldview"?

No I did not.

Maybe.

-
I wasn't very impressed with the questions and the available answers.
-
Holy crap we're off into the black-and-white REAL fast!
-
@Tsaukpaetra FFS None of these are so mutually exclusive to be able to force a single answer!
-
The worldview you identify with most is called modern. Out of 17 questions, you 15 times chose the typical modern perspective as your preferred answer.
The worldview you identify with least is called traditional. Out of 17 questions, you chose 10 times the traditional perspective as your least preferred answer.
not impressed with some of the questions and some of the answers.
-
@all_users Yeah, a lot of the questions were not mutually exclusive and several I didn't have a strong feeling in any particular way.
-
IMESHO, this test is BS. I could tell for each of the 17 questions exactly which "worldview" the answer was designed to put a point towards.
FWIW, My results were:
The worldview you identify with most is called integrative. Out of 17 questions, you 6 times chose the typical integrative perspective as your preferred answer.
The worldview you identify least is called postmodern. Out of 17 questions, you chose 3 times the postmodern perspective as your least preferred answerLove that grammar structure.
I can only assume that I only barely qualify as integrative based on those two figures. Oh well.

Same here. The author seems to think that only corporations can corrupt science.
I suppose this should have been a clue:
Annick de Witt (Ph.D.) is an author, change-maker, and consultant in the field of cultural and inner transformation for global sustainability.
My results:
The worldview you identify with most is called integrative. Out of 17 questions, you 5 times chose the typical integrative perspective as your preferred answer.
The worldview you identify with least is called traditional. Out of 17 questions, you chose 2 times the traditional perspective as your least preferred answer.

Sure, but there are only 4 worldviews. Wouldn't one of the others have more than 2 least preferred answers out of 15?

Yes, but you negated the least-preferred by answering another with most preferred. Your point would make sense if they only had one option per answer, instead of two.
-
@Tsaukpaetra OK that makes sense, thanks.
-
The worldview you identify with most is called postmodern. Out of 17 questions, you 9 times chose the typical postmodern perspective as your preferred answer.
You also scored quite high on the modern worldview. Out of 17 questions, you 5 times chose the modern perspective as your preferred answer.
The worldview you identify with least is called traditional. Out of 17 questions, you chose 10 times the traditional perspective as your least preferred answer.Ha ha, I got three results! I have no idea what the hell they mean though. Does anyone have the link to the page explaining them from the mail? 10minutemail stripped HTML and didn't provide the URL and I don't it on the site...
And yes, tests on the internet tend to be very simplistic with most of the questions being like "Did you stop beating your wife yet? [Yes] [No]"
-
The worldview you identify with most is called modern. Out of 17 questions, you 12 times chose the typical modern perspective as your preferred answer.
The worldview you identify with least is called traditional. Out of 17 questions, you chose 14 times the traditional perspective as your least preferred answer.
Learn about your dominant, modern worldview, here.
After 17 questions, they can tell I have a "modern" worldview.
...
That's it? All you can tell after millions $$$ of research, wasting 20 mins of my time and making me join a spam list is "gee, you sure sound like you mostly responded anti-religiously to our stupid questions".
NO SHIT, SHERLOCK, I NEVER COULD HAVE FIGURED THAT OUT WITHOUT YOU.
I wish I'd have gone with a psyhic instead. At least they'd be more fun.

The worldview you identify with least is called traditional. Out of 17 questions, you chose 12 times the traditional perspective as your least preferred answer
Not that integrated then, but I seem to fucking hate tradition

Dear lord, that website reads like some insane mix between a round of corporate buzzword bingo and Scientology. But I guess that's not all that surprising, given the author's bio... change-maker my asshole.

On 15 out of 17 questions, you did NOT choose "traditional perspective" as your least preferred answer. It doesn't deign to give you a detailed breakdown, apparently (unless nobody's bothered to show one so far).
ETA: I am considering turning on a signature and putting in it.
-
the integrative worldview ... is highly self-reflexive
It itself is, its own self itself, itself itself.
Edited to fix grammar. Yes, there is a correct reading of that.
-
The worldview you identify with most is called postmodern. Out of 17 questions, you 6 times chose the typical postmodern perspective as your preferred answer.

Whoop doop scoop

@CreatedToDislikeThis Check if the calculation algorithm is stable: take the test again, with the same answers, and see if it reverses your most and least.
-
@FrostCat You're misreading it. There's a difference between selecting something as your preferred answer and your least preferred answer (you select one "most identify with" and one "least identify with", from the four worldviews, for each question).
-
@anotherusername Thanks. So apparently I'm accepting of viewpoints other than mine, I'm commited to social justice and I care very much about climate change. And skimming this, apparently Bernie Sanders appeals to me. Either it's opposite day or this woman has no idea how people outside her hugbox think - looking at my results and the two extremes' descriptions (postmodernist vs traditionalist) it seems she believes anyone who isn't a progressive climate alarmist must be a bible-thumper.
I wonder if the workshop she's pitching is available remotely. I had to sit through an all-day DISC session a few months earlier, and it was ridiculous, but this has the potential to be so, so much crazier - and our management has been looking to waste some more money on
stupid bullshitteambuilding again.

Apparently I'm most Postmodern and least Traditional. I've managed never to find out what postmodernism is up to now and I find myself disinclined to start.
Anyway, half the questions I disagreed with all the statements equally.
-
@pydsigner said in Worldview Test:
You're misreading it.
Nope. I was making a joke. Most and Least had the same number of answers. I was riffing on the difference between stable and unstable sorting algorithms. Given that both the most and the least have the same number, the answer "your most is postmodern and your least is integrative" is the same as "your most is integrative and your least is postmodern".

Room for growth for the modern worldview:- Become aware that the scientific perspective is also a worldview (rather than the only objective truth)
But that's wrong.
