Setting up SSL for Windows Remote Access
-
I am running the Windows Server 2012 R2 Remote Access Setup tool, and I reached a stage where I have to pick an SSL certificate for the Remote Access server to use.
I have a GoDaddy certificate I can use, but when I click "Browse" in the Remote Access Setup tool, I only see two certificates and I can't actually browse the filesystem to find the one I want.
Where do I have to "import" the GoDaddy certificate so it shows up in the Remote Access Setup's list of certificates?
-
@Captain use MMC.exe and add the certificate snap-in for local computer. Right click on personal -> Import(or something like that) and follow the wizard.

@MathNerdCNU the GoDaddy certificate is already in
mmc > Certificates (Local Computer) > Personal > Certificates
.I don't think that's the right "directory" for it to show up in the Remote Access Setup tool's list, though.

@Captain Does a little key show up in the icon of the GoDaddy certificate in MMC?
I assume you are around Step 10 of this guide:
-
@MathNerdCNU Thanks -- I got it figured out. It turns out the list of certificates in the Remote Access Setup app gets populated when you start the wizard, as opposed to when you click "Browse".

That's surprisingly consistent actually...
