Well that's just great. Now they'll probably blame it on the crypto. "the hash function made me do it!!!" and the DHS will use this as en excuse to force people into using weak crypto, etc.
-
Alas, for it is not crypto, but Perl. "HASH(0xa8081f8)" is something like what you'd get if you stringified a hashref.

Though the page has a PHP extension...?

Though the page has a PHP extension...?That's easy to set up in Apache. It is definitely the output of perl.

To me this is a bigger WTF: http://www.breitbart.tv/?p=111303
Headline: Obama Says He Hasn’t Touched a Cigarette in ‘Months’
I mean really who gives a, how you say, ass of the rat? Good thing there aren't more pressing issues at the moment.

It's more likely that the news fetch/import/etc script is in Perl, while the rest of the site is in PHP. Or it occurred upstream. Or something.@fbjon said:

Always glad to remove the need for a lengthy and pointless discussion

I was being sarcastic. The fact that this was perl was established awhile ago. What do you think you contributed here?
-
You were being sarcastic? man, I thought for a second I was the sarcastic one... what a relief!
As for the contribution.... it was meant to be the equivalent of a full stop, but some people just won't let go.
