Nevermind the multiple bankruptcies, or his vast under-estimate on the cost of building the Great Wall of Mexico. He started at 4 billion, and eventually pushed it up to 12 billion. Contractors estimate 25 billion for a project of that scale.

It'd be more humane to do that, after all that's how all the white folk got here in the first place.
But instead we lock them up and employ the local recently "civilised" hill tribe as security staff and wardens and then act all "What, I didn't do it" when people get beaten and/or raped. And then the rape victims aren't allowed an abortion because Catholicism on the shitty island that isn't even ours and they're not allowed to travel to the nearest country with decent healthcare (Australia) because racist xenophobic paranoia and they might somehow both steal our jobs and lay about on welfare at the same time.
And then not only do people not see what's wrong with any of this even when the highest court of the country that actually owns the island says to their government "WTF you can't do that, let them out", we have senior Government ministers doubling-down on their stupidity and making more ignorant racist xenophobic comments to rile up the ignorant population that votes for them. And the other major party can't be seen to be soft (read: human, reasonable) and so they compete in this race to the bottom.
Never mind that this modern nation was entirely founded on immigration and that the vast majority of people found trying to reach Australia by boat are determined to be genuine refugees, don't let the facts get in the way of some good "other"-bashing.
And we have an election in six weeks so all of this is now turned up to 11.

We tried that too ... but in true EU style the beancounters made a rounding error and forgot about these Greecians or whatever they are called. Does it matter? They still need to pay that money back.

Trump as President is such a terrible idea that basically every diehard Republican I know is saying they're either not voting, voting a write-in, or voting for Hillary....
Except for one. That person also spouts garbage about how vaccines are a government conspiracy to cause autism, and posted on their social media account to tell everyone that they should be sure to stop taking antibiotics as soon as they start feeling better because antibiotics are bad for you. So I suppose supporting Trump is consistent with what I assume must be her goal in life - to cause the extinction of the human race.

They are the only sane choice, along with the Sex Party. It doesn't make any difference what I vote though, my representative is unfortunately safe and we only have two senators (yay territory instead of state) so one Liberal and one Labor is all we have room for.

It does, this time by our Minister for Immigration. And our Deputy Prime Minister thinks that suspending live cattle exports to Indonesia caused more people to try to reach Australia by boat to seek asylum. We've got some real clowns in charge here.

Many people would disagree with my statement, but the Sex Party is a real thing. I believe they were created with fairly narrow policies to continue decriminalisation and improve safety and acceptance of sex work but have expanded their policies since. I'm not going to look them up to confirm because I'm at work. The fact that I'm worried about checking the web site of a political party at work is another sign that progress is needed on the "talking about sex is taboo" front.
Unfortunately their name limits the amount of electoral success they can ever have.
