Cannot load Front page via HTTPS

I summon @ben_lubar, Avatar of the elder gods, High priest of codethulu, Harken unto my words for they are important!
The front page can be summoned via http but NOT via https
this is an Sev issue that demands immediate attention (and/or eating. (are you going to eat that ? if not, can i have it?))

The front page has never been available over HTTPS.

The front page has never been available over HTTPS.
then why is the port open? i shouldn't request the page over HTTPS and get a carrier signal.
either the port needs to be closed or letsencrypt needs to be enabled for the main page.
one or t'other man. one or t'other.

@accalia said in Cannot load Front page via HTTPS:
why is the port open?
To bring you hope, only to subsequently realize that it's actually hopeless...

dirty stinking lying port.
it should be shot for that!
-
@accalia But if you shoot the port, we won't have anything to drink!

But if you shoot the port, we won't have anything to drink!
That's what the retention bin is for, after all....
Wait, are we talking about the same thing?

we'll still have the scotch, and the jager.
-
@accalia said in Cannot load Front page via HTTPS:
and the jager.
You should shoot that, rather than drink it.
-
@FrostCat Don't shoot the Jager, just give it to me
-
@RaceProUK You can have mine, and my friend's, who, last time he drank the stuff, said he needed to lick his asshole to get the taste out of his mouth.
Now, Jägerdraught, on the other hand, maybe....
-
@RaceProUK Y u be so nasty? Jager is twizler-rejects in alcohol form! BLASPHEMER!!!1!!11111!!

This is what happens when you drink too much Jager.
-
I've got some plump helmet wine, some pig tail ale, some cave wheat beer, and some sweet pod rum.
-
@ben_lubar
I guess it will be Jager then ...
-
@accalia It's a kind of "practice what you preach" principle. The front page deals with terrible decisions in IT. I'd be more surprised if things actually worked like they're supposed to.
-
@RaceProUK said in Cannot load Front page via HTTPS:
if you shoot the port,
Just like shootin' wamp rats back on Tatooine?
-
@Yamikuronue I think that might get you into trouble with the TSPCA

It's a purple mushroom, so yes.

issue is still extant. port 443 is open on
74.50.110.120
, and accepts a socket level connection, however no data is ever received on the connection and the HTTPS handshake never progresses beyopnd the client initialization step.Based on the lack of response i am escalating this issue to a Sev issue, and am notifying the relevant agencies to act upon such information as have been received in this case.

Yezzz, hooboy!

It would be good if I could still choose http, as the company firewalls here are a lot easier on traffic they can inspect.
