White Toast

Sometimes the magical toaster popup shows up entirely white. I can't predict when it will happen, and it doesn't stay around for long, so I haven't got a screenshot of it happening, but it's quite irritating to see something that has some sort of information except it doesn't.
It does come up in different sizes, and correlates with other information that makes me think it is at least sometimes trying to tell me about notifications of likes, forum restarts, etc. Hard to be sure though; it's just a white box…

This is because it doesn't have a severity assigned to it (like "default", "success", "error"). On the default theme, this isn't a problem because it's styled with blue text in that regard, but in most custom themes, this is in fact, an error.
I haven't experimented enough to stylish it away, but it's usually some generic notification like "someone liked your post in blah thread" or "someone posted in a thread you watch".

All my notifications are white. Theme: darkly

Disappoint ... was expecting a racist flame war but all I got was some NodeBB toast

There's a fix in the stylish thread. I also put a bug on the what bugs tracker but it was closed because stylish exists

@dkf The 'forum has been updated' toaster uses a different font colour, which is actually visible on the deviant themes.
The liked/mentioned/go to last post ones use white on white, though.

/* That orange was way too annoying */ div.alert, div.alert.alert-dismissable.alert-info{ background-color:#375a7f; border-color: #072a4f; }
In case you don't want to actually visit the stylish-topic!

Surely we ought to fix our themes before layering hacks over them? GOOBE UX and all…

I don't know what @ben_lubar was smoking on this one. It's obviously a NodeBB bug:

I also use darkley, and there are many theme bugs in it. Like
<ins>
and<del>
colors are not legible, replied quotes are white on white, ...@Luhmann said in White Toast:

A minority theme has its own disadvantages. Run the default white-background theme, and you automatically are privileged! we minorities have to assume there will be bugs and patiently wait to get a decent readable CSS.

I use lumen as it darkens up some of the interface elements while still keeping a largely white background.

@boomzilla I look forward to when the fix gets deployed here.

That's not NodeBB or the theme's fault, that's our custom CSS:
.topic .posts .content del, .composer .preview del { background-color: #FDD; border-color: #F1C0C0; } .topic .posts .content ins, .composer .preview ins { background-color: #DBFFDB; border-color: #C1E9C1; }
It's changing the background color but not the text color. Maybe @ben_lubar can fix that...

Gee; it's almost as if he just ignores bugs me doesn't personally like for some reason.
