Deleted post content still shows in teaser in topic views
-
Most likely a NodeBB bug (and I don't have a Github account), but I saw this post when I came to the forums this morning:
Hey, obviously spam, so I go in to check and see about flagging it, but:
So it's deleted, OK, except why does the text still show on the topic view?
CSS was fiddled with to show it's all still there. I understand that, unlike Discourse, they don't change the text content of the post, but maybe the teaser should just be blank for deleted posts, no matter the source of the deletion?
-
@ChaosTheEternal yeah, that's strange. Also, why's the topic not deleted if the original post is deleted?
-
That's some good QA right there. Ship it!

Psst, @mods...
the thread in question is over here
Looks like the topic starter post is deleted but the topic isn't. However that's even possible.

We need someone to test this. Paging @fbmac

@anotherusername They split out posts vs topic, including the frist post, apparently. Looks like @PJH used the post menu (the skinny hamburger or verticle ellipsis or whatever) instead of the "topic tools" menu. The topic is deleted now.
-
The fact that the teaser was still displaying the deleted post should definitely be a bug, though.

Oh, I'm ....
Didn't realise there were so many ways to get rid of spam since we seem to get a lot less of it since I first got dragged into doing stuff on here... (back on CS for those not keeping up.)

I found this behavior on the first week of NodeBB. Works ok to me, I can delete my OP without deleting other people posts.
