  •  Also, happy new year, bitches.

  •  I use a hard-to-track-down username just for this reason. You don't want the goverment to monitor your online activities. Wrapping tinfoil around the phone cable also helps.

  • Discourse touched me in a no-no place

It would appear that any (some?) three letter user ID used across various services is rather immune to google searches. The leading (and 2nd) search result for mine (for me, given Google tends to tweak their searches in favour of the searcher, and I use PJH elsewhere) produces a company that does bathroom fitttings. 3, 4 & 5 are lawyers. 6 is a wonkypedia article. None of which have anything to do with me or my profession. In fact (I got bored) nothing in the first 40 results is me.

Even searchng for my real name on google produces no results for 'me'. Whether this is a good thing (see below) or not, I'm not sure.

    Or, more seriously, future employers.

Hmm, the same goes for me, if you try my real name you won't get any result, if you try my nick you'll get results from here and another fora which is good, at least for me

Or you could also post from a developing country, using first world's IP addresses.

    So you're a terrorist?

  • Er, what? Since when does posting from India using a US proxy make you a terrorist?

Do you want an exact date or a relative timeframe?
