NodeBB groups overview does not show memberships
-
The groups overview page does not display whether the current user is a member of each group. This might be useful information to display without requiring an extra click.
-
Sure it does, assuming you can recognize your own avatar:
That said, it's not very prominent.

And you happen to be one of the first few listed.
-
@boomzilla Oh, I mostly care about small groups.
...what controls whether "..." shows up or not? It didn't in the screenshot I posted but there's two peope missing.
-
@Yamikuronue No clue. I suspect we'd have to dig into the code, because some have them and some don't. I don't see an obvious pattern.
-
CSS people: is it possible to do CSS that says "if this container overflows, put '...' at the end"? If so, then we can just try to put every avatar and then apply that rule.
-
@Yamikuronue Yes, but it only applies to text I think. The rule is
text-overflow: ellipsis;
; not sure if it'd work with inlined images.
-
@Yamikuronue We have a group with over 100k members. I don't think that's a good idea.
-
@ben_lubar Yeah, the real solution is to fix the logic for showing the ellipsis. Which is implemented (when it is) as another
<li>
element.
