OMG WTF...

  • This was passed to me by a someone that works there.

    WTF

  • Heh, I've heard that joke/quiz before. It's one of my favourites. :)

  • What's abundantly clear is that neither the pinhead at Seapine nor the folks at Anderson Consulting understand basic concepts about refrigerators, giraffes, and elephants.  The second question also never makes clear whether or not it's the same refrigerator that you previously filled with chopped giraffe bits.

This is why I hate anyone who graduated from business school.

Congratulations, you found the joke. Well, part of it at any rate.

  • I especially like when they get towards the end and the narrator has a hard time not laughing...

  • I want this to be a joke on so many levels, but if it turns out it's a real quiz, it's a huge WTF.  For starters:

    1. He never asks the player to actually put either animal into the refrigerator, but rather how to do it, so the answers to #2 and #3 are broken.
    2. It's never specified that attendance at the conference is mandatory, thus the crocodiles may or may not be present.
    3. #1 is broken as worded - assuming a standard size refrigerator and standard size giraffe, since the speaker fails to specify otherwise, the giraffe must be dismantled before placing into the unit.  Simply opening the door and trying to put an assembled giraffe in won't work.

Given that it purportedly came from Seapine, makers of TestTrash Pro, it wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be real...

If I fell for something obvious, my excuse is that it's friday afternoon, and I've slept a total of eleven hours this week.

  •  I missed the last question so this guy beat me with a 9 iron.

This may be the single most annoying thing I've seen all day.

And I've seen two drunk people bitching about CF in the channel while JimBastard/Russ tries to rap.

  •  If it's "correct" to assume that the fridge is big enough to hold a giraffe, and is also correct to assume that it's big enough to hold an elephant.... Couldn't we assume that it's big enough to hold both at the same time?

Has PITA head about this animal refridgeration tactic of theirs?  Seems like the sort of thing that it would be illegal to ask in a job interview (unless Giraffes aren't a protected class under the ERA)

What are you people, geeks?? It's a classic and quite old joke, not a quiz, and it's designed to throw off the listener by introducing assumptions that weren't originally there. I probably read this one 20 years ago, and I still chuckled. Annoying, but well made. :)

Unfortunately, it's vulnerable to being thrown off itself if the subject thinks too much outside the container, like saying: "throw both giraffe and fridge into a black hole, as a bonus the fridge is now also in the giraffe".

  • Most disturbing thing about this is the Jeopardy theme that seems to have been played back with... some... sort of audio device (sounds like a gramophone) and then been recorded again with the microphone. And then it is interrupted at a random point of the track.

    1. Er, yes, we are?
    2. Of course it's a joke, I've also heard it long before. But isn't there the possibility that they actually mis-used it as an actual test?

However, I don't think they actually had this as a test, but rather as an invitation to the golf... thing... I didn't quite get what it was all about. But who knows?

Yeah, I've never quite understood how people can post on TDWTF forums and not realize that 90+% of the users here are either I.T. enthusiasts or I.T. professionals...

  • What's the WTF? That you linked to a "Page not found" page?

No, it's that you can't comprehend the fact that they may have taken it down.

  • Could you post a screenshot of the quiz so that we can see it after they take it down?

It was a presentation with voice. Screenshots would not convey the full WTFery. The answers were all verbal.
