Looks more like it's removing trailing slashes in general.
I'm guessing some markdown nonsense about treating backslash-newline as something completely different.

I suspect it something to do with how backslashes are escaped in markdown.

Edit: bloody hell, it even broke my URL (copied straight from the Firefox URL bar) because it had a slash in the middle.

I heard that the Daring Fireball created markdown to specifically upset you ... you should probably show that you are better than then and get over it.

@blakeyrat Well you should probably try to resolve that situation then.
I have this image of you with a gun to your head by a unsavory gentleman, whilst having to post comments on the dailywtf. If that is the situation at hand, once he falls asleep you should probably call the police, this is provided that they don't rotate shifts when forcing you to post comments on internet forums. Then I would try to become as friendly as possible with your captures and wait until they become lax enough that they leave you with some easy access to the outside world ... then it is your chance!!
