Where have the custom emojis gone?
-
Has someone updated the emoji set and accidentally got rid of the custom ones?
is the only one I can remember, but the custom ones aren't there when I open the super-fucking-massive emoji picker.
-
@DoctorJones Lots have survived.
, , , ....
-
They were working the other day, I remember seeing them in the emoji picker too. Something has happened to make them disappear.
Do any of the @mods know? How about the @administrators?
-
@DoctorJones If you remember more names, they could be investigated.
-
@boomzilla is a must, given some of the topics here.
-
@boomzilla Well, there's this lot: https://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/icons/
:P
-
@RaceProUK
and that went along with a of the same name
-
@Luhmann *twitch* *twitch* *twitch*
-
@RaceProUK ...and those are all there, from what I can see.

Totally. Hrm...but they don't survive a partial quote. I was just getting used to that working on discoquotes.
-
@boomzilla
Huh? They where there when I posted but not after a hard refresh of the page ...
-

...I was in this thread a second ago and it worked when your post streamed in, although it was weirdly stretched. Now I entered it again and there's just text.
Have you edited your post, is there a bug, or am I going insane?
-
I see all of them fine. Maybe you are all having cache issues? Are the image URLs still the same?

Yes, I don't know what these guys are going on about. My point was that if you include and emoji when you highlight and click reply, the emoji isn't in the quote in the composer. I had to edit it back in manually.
-
@Luhmann Refreshed, still all good in Opera at least.
-
@boomzilla Ah, I think Discourse handled that by looking at
title
attribute of selected images.Add it to the PR request list I guess?

Are you on Windows? Probably a hardware fault.
-
@Luhmann Huh. So for you, it parses, but doesn't load the images, and for me, it doesn't even parse them...
I am so confused right now.
-
@Maciejasjmj But seriously, what browser?
Linux - Chrome Version 49.0.2623.87 (64-bit)

Firefox Developer Edition 47 - Win7
WOMM, too.

Linux - Chrome Version 49.0.2623.87 (64-bit)
Windows, Chrome 49.0.2623.87 m.
Doesn't work in FF or IE either.
-
@Maciejasjmj Have you been playing with the new "view raw" stuff?
-
@boomzilla
No, I run no additional css or stuff
-
@boomzilla Nope, didn't do anything. No custom CSS, no userscripts, I even disabled Adblock.
-
@Maciejasjmj Sucks to be you.
-
@Luhmann
No Repro on Mobile ....
-
@boomzilla, @aliceif, @Maciejasjmj just to be clear, I'm seeing none of the custom emojis.
Are you guys just trolling me, or is something weird happening here?

My question, exactly. One can never be completely sure around here. But the emojis render correctly as images for me.
-
@boomzilla I am genuinely just seeing plain text. @ben_lubar, have you got any idea what's going on mate?
-
@DoctorJones
I just rebooted, yes I'm on Windows, and now it's fine again ...
-
@DoctorJones Take a look at what you're getting sent. In dev tools / network, filter on "/topic" to see what you're getting for content. I copied the response into the console to get a nice object to look through. Look at the posts array. Item 1 (when you view the top of the topic) is @aliceif's post with a bunch of them. For me, the content is (edited for line breaks):
"<p><a class="plugin-mentions-a" href="https://what.thedailywtf.com/user/doctorjones">@DoctorJones</a> Lots have survived.<br/> <img src="https://what.thedailywtf.com/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji-static/static/images/tdwtf/hanzo.png" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-parsed" data-set-id="tdwtf" data-emoji-id="hanzo" alt=":hanzo:" title="hanzo" width="20" height="20" />, <img src="https://what.thedailywtf.com/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji-static/static/images/tdwtf/magnets_having_sex.png" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-parsed" data-set-id="tdwtf" data-emoji-id="magnets_having_sex" alt=":magnets_having_sex:" title="magnets_having_sex" width="60" height="60" />, <img src="https://what.thedailywtf.com/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji-static/static/images/tdwtf/facepalm.png" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-parsed" data-set-id="tdwtf" data-emoji-id="facepalm" alt=":facepalm:" title="facepalm" width="20" height="20" />, <img src="https://what.thedailywtf.com/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji-static/static/images/tdwtf/headdesk.png" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-parsed" data-set-id="tdwtf" data-emoji-id="headdesk" alt=":headdesk:" title="headdesk" width="289" height="289" /> ....</p><span> </span>"
So...not sure how you could be getting the raw there.
-
@boomzilla I'm not getting them when posts stream in though...

Here is the markup I'm receiving for @aliceif's post.
<div class="content" component="post/content" itemprop="text"> <p><a class="plugin-mentions-a" href="https://what.thedailywtf.com/user/doctorjones">@DoctorJones</a> Lots have survived.<br> :hanzo:, :magnets_having_sex:, :facepalm:, :headdesk: ....</p><span> </span> </div>

@Onyx Hmmm...let's seee...

Please someone post something with one so I can watch it?

Also, it worked this time?

Are you sure the problem isn't due to this in your admin panel @boomzilla?

URI please? KTHXBYE.

Hmmm the ones at the top still don't work, but here's what I see from the new posts:
-
@DoctorJones What new spawn of madness is this?
Kill the witch!

I can repro this in Chrome, Firefox and IE.
You guys must be

I've tried
CTRL
+F5
, I've tried dev tools Right click on refresh buttonEmpty cache and hard reload
, and I've tried 2 other browsers that I never use, all have the same result.I'm not going through a proxy either...
Luckily it works fine on my mobile. This is bizarre.
