Mobile is still :doing_it_wrong: -- "in reply to" box and likes
-
So, when on mobile, there is no info to which post is a post in reply to (post). So I read a lot of "I disagree with you" and I don't know, whom is the disagreement with.
So fuck that shit. Please give me my important info back.
Oh, and likes to. There's no way to see who liked a post on mobile.
Will mobile ever be treated right by any web developer? If not, then:
fuck this shit

No, because when I say we should render the same UI on mobile I get looked at like I'm insane.

I think you're right and if someone disagrees with you, then
fuck this shit
Why do people think, that when you're on mobile, you don't want any information or functionality?
-
Same features, yes it should be the same on mobile. Same layout though... lolno :P

Figured there would be, since I was able to see (once) the list of who liked a post on my iPad. Problem is, the area for those buttons and the counter between them is too small to touch between them.
Also, sorry for any notification spam, since I kept trying to touch the number between both my phone and iPad and kept hitting the upvote

no repro:
;)

Here's some CSS to adjust that (locally, most likely not on mobile, unless an admin decides to put it in the stylesheets for us):
a[component="post/upvote"], a[component="post/downvote"] { padding: 10px; padding-right: 8px; } span[component="post/vote-count"] { padding: 10px 13px; }
Just feels like the counter needs a background as well, but I don't know if the background on it is per theme or not.
-
@ChaosTheEternal if you stick to using Bootstrap classes it should pick stuff up from theme. They are not NodeBB specific:
-
@Onyx I didn't write the plugin, so I can't use any classes. The counter is basically only targetable in CSS with the rule in my post, with the only limiting option is by targeting the container (which has only one class, "votes").
-
@ChaosTheEternal ah, sorry, on mobile so I'm just skimming the code parts.

Shit doesn't work. I'd have have fingers of a child (a newborn?) to be able to tap in between those buttons. I always upvote/downvote.
Poor UX, sorry.
-
@kt_ the number is at least as wide of a click target as the buttons on the sides. Try refreshing if you can't see the latest custom CSS.

So what? Those buttons have nothing outside of them, this small space has buttons on their sides. I made a tag. I was able to see the list with the 7th try. And I ended up up voting, mistakenly.
-
The gap is big enough?
-
@ben_lubar, retried on your post. This time it was the 23rd time.
-
Also, compare:
On desktop, I know that it was in reply to @Onyx, on mobile I have no idea of what conversation is this post a part of.
-
@kt_ have you refreshed yet? Because that's not what those buttons should look like and they are plenty big.
EDIT: and the in-reply-to indicator is now on mobile too....

@sloosecannon, hey, that's right. Thanks @ben_lubar! (And all the others that made this possible. Also, I'd like to thank my parents and all my friends, I couldn't have written this post if it want for your support.)

The hilarious part is that they're always trying to make desktop UIs more like mobile.
