NodeBB chat is worse than IRC

When a message is written in a chat, you get instantly scrolled to the bottom.

I'm experiencing behaviour worse than that (on mobile). Whenever I receive a chat notification, I get sent to the bottom of any page that I'm currently on, regardless of whether I'm in the chat I received a message in or not.

Unfortunately I'm in rather a busy chat, so I'm really struggling to navigate the site. It's almost unusable.
