Weechat and windows [big image]
-
It appears weechat doesn't like being in my aterm which SShes to another box which then runs weechat in a screen session. This is the resulting mess:
Note: I type /names a few times to see if it would correct itself, apparently not. Now to try and fix it.

Oh, I see the problem: there's some text over top of that image!
-
I appear to have neglected mentioning that the image is resized; in Firefox right click and select view image to see the full size. What appears to be happening is the font is getting messed up and three characters are being displayed when one is expected, resulting in the shifting lines, and since it's ncurses it displays the chat text fine.

Try in this order and stop once it looks right:
Ctrl-A :encoding utf-8 iso-8859-15 (your locales are probably wrecked, this tells screen that your weechat writes UTF-8 and your terminal is iso-8859-15
Ctrl-L (weechat: redraw screen)
Ctrl-A Shift-F (screen: resize terminal to fit window)
Ctrl-A Ctrl-L (screen:redraw screen)
The real WTF is that you failed to set your character encodings right :P

Don't know which one it is
Murphy strikes: of course it's the last one (Photo22.jpg) ;-)

Actually, sorry. The real WTF is that ssh connections don't transmit locale information (and just terminal information).
