Heh heh, it says "arse"

I'm sure there's a good reason behind that procedure name, though. It's on SqlQuery, so it's probably something like... "A Returning-Scalar Execution", yeah.
EDIT: or not:
-
Inquiring minds mildly wonder what scrobbling is.
-
I wonder why they used inheritance and not composition.

Last.fm is basically a music play counter website - you get a plugin for your music player, and it tracks your plays so that you can
brag about your superior music tasteget recommendations, info about shows and events, and show off what you're listening to.And "scrobbling" is uploading info that you've played a music track to last.fm. It's like "tweeting", only from before "tweeting" was cool.
-
It's what last.fm does.
-
Was expecting typo of "parse". Instead got superstitious compile error dodging. Not sure what to think.

I've used some odd names in the past; I once wrote code with the variables
stan
andkyle
(they had a scope of three lines). But I make it a point of professional pride to never include vulgarity in my code.Heh heh, he called the function
arse
:)

Roedy Green would like a word with you.
-
@Magus Really? Wow!
Who is he?
-
@RaceProUK He's the author of How to Write Unmaintainable Code.
-
You haven't read "How to Write Unmaintainable Code"!?
-
@Magus can we haz ? Apparently, yes!
-
@antiquarian that's a lesser version of it. The good one is on thc and some university's site.
-
Actually, no; I'll add it to my reading list
-
-
@HardwareGeek i usually link people the pdf version that's on some Uni site. You know it's the real one because it says quidquid latine dictum sit, altum sonatur under one of the early headings.
-
@Magus The one on thc is fine. Maybe there's something malicious on some other page, but the only malicious on that page are the programming practices; they're the great-grandmother of the Evil Ideas topic.
