Unorthodocs: Abandon your DVCS and Return to Sanity

Blakey, is this you?
It's like everything you've ever complaned about but with less bile, and easier to agree with!
-
I prefer Blakey's fire and brimestone approach.
-
You know what kind of external binary asset management system works really well? Subversion. Turns out it works tolerably for source control, too. Maybe you should take a look at it.
[git is] so simple that Atlassian and GitHub both felt a need to write their own online tutorials to try to clarify the main Git tutorial on the actual Git website
-
I prefer Blakey's fire and brimestone approach.
He's just wrong about most stuff.
I basically agree with TFA. I love mercurial. I guess the real solution is what Facebook is doing, since no one seems to be able or willing to make a CVCS as nice as mercurial (or even git).
-
Seems like a lot of this could be solved without ditching Git.
- Have a process that works, so you don't need to decide what to do.
- Find a way to have checkpoints so you only pull down the relevant part of the history.

EDIT: It seems @blakeyrat actually posted this very same article before:

Darcs wasn't a failure. Darcs is a great program, which unfortunately gained little traction after Git stole its thunder.

Read that ages ago. Probably posted it here, too. I didn't write it though.

Yeah over a year ago. I'm so fucking far ahead of you guys, bam. Leave you all in the dust.
I'll talk to you again when you catch up with me, in a YEAR.

It's cool that you have so much free time to spend reading blog posts...

The difference between blakey and the poster of that article is that he can actually give compelling reasons against DVCS not just "you're wrong, I'm right".

EARGH!
TAKE IT AWAY! TAKE IT AWAY! I'LL BE GOOD!

Today's lesson: colour inversion reveals the existence of hellspawn
-
did someone want hellspawn?
-
TBH, that looks more like the cover of an indie album
-
I give most of the exact same reason. I just emphasize different stuff (usability is muncho importante, he considered it barely relevant). And obviously I do it all more brilliantly.
