The FrostCat Plays Alone

**Status:**strong text In the last ten minutes, GW2 has told me three times "there are few players left on this map, would you like to switch to a more populated one?"
Maybe stop sending me to empty maps, huh?
ETA: #4
-
Maybe they weren't empty when you entered but everybody left like a rat leaving a sinking ship when they saw you there.

But my character's not named after you, so why would they?
-
If you're on the map that was randomly chosen as the daily achievement event map or if you're on a map where a big boss fight just ended, they could be emptying out because people finished what they were doing.
-
That could make sense, but I was in Blazeridge Steppes--I was lumberjacking--and the dailies are Kryta Forager, Snowden Drifts Event completer, and Daily Activity, and Great Jungle Wurm, so unless the activity's in Ascalon, no.

Or he should wear deodorant.

Blazeridge Steppes
How did you not see the giant purple dragon flying over your head?
-
Do you see "Daily Shatterer" on this list?
Also, according to your own link that event was about an hour before I noticed the map emptying out repeatedly.
-
So you're saying that people only do bosses that are the daily? Even though the Shatterer gives really good rewards now?
Also, the prerequisites for the shatterer unlocked about half an hour before your post. It usually takes about 15 minutes for people to gather and then 15 minutes to kill it.

...and then everyone sat around for half an hour before suddenly deciding to decamp the map? Sure, it's possible, but it seems unlikely.
ETA: Plus, what you said doesn't square with the fact that the wiki says the shatterer was ~2 hours ago and my post was ~1 hour ago, is what I originally meant. Unless you're saying the timer on the wiki doesn't actually say when the shatterer's out.
-
Your post was made at 2016-02-25T01:29:50.272Z. The Shatterer's prerequisites start every 3 hours starting at 01:00 UTC.
-
All I can tell you is that when I clicked your link, my first post was about an hour ago, and the wiki said the shatterer was at 22:56 hours from now, which I took to mean 2 hours ago. That leaves an hour spread.
Plus I've been on maps where there's been world bosses or whatever you call 'em and not seen a whole string of "your map is empty" like that--I don't think I've ever seen as many as two in one hour, and here there were like 4, plus a couple more over the next half hour.
I mean, that could've been it, but it just seems weird.

Shatterer got updated in the last major patch.

Also I was on the entire other end of the map (far SW corner) at the time so I didn't actually see the dragon.

BY ALL MEANS KEEP DEBATING THIS CRITICALLY IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!!!! THE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW!!!!!!!!!!
<sarcasm>[NB: this conversation was Jeff'd from the status thread - bz]
-
There's a guild mission location there and I swear it flies over that area.

Shouldn't you have been sleeping? Besides, it was my status! And it was an ongoing thing.
-
All the way down in Twin Sisters Crossing? Maybe. It's as far as you can get from where the battle happens, though.
-
I'd just keep chopping wood then switch the map, and then enjoy the <whatever> bonus and chop more wood. :P
-

Looks more like an hour and four minutes to me.
-

That's what I did. I'd just never seen more than one "would you like to switch" before, let alone 5 or 6, or however it eventually ended up being.
-

Huh. Well, maybe I misread the web page then.
-
Because that prompt only appears to people in overflow map, and only once for each time the number of people in map falls below the theshold.
I guess people are busy moving in and out of the map yesterday?
