My daughter just purchased a "Quantum Computer" for $20,000 that was manufactured in Europe, with a software program that deals with Medical Bio-feedback technology. It measures the energy within the human body, diagnoses and then rcommends a remedy of energy to heal? Has anyone been exposed to this "Quantum Computer" and it's technology?

Reads like some spambot to me. It detected that the subject was "racetrack" and wrote a generic comment on it. I don't know the purpose of it though.

Edit: Wait a minute, what 3rd page? I see 9 comments on 2 pages.

I was so hoping he was taking the p*ss - but then I Googled 'quantum' and 'biofeedback' and got a lot of hits, including this:

which seems to be in the quoted price/performance/moron area. Interestingly, some of the links no longer work.

I think someone on the original thread gently told him he'd been 'had'.

Good thought, but as you say, why ? I notice one post has been removed for breaching T&C, and I can't find our friend, so you're probably right.

I see 30 on 3 pages, but they seem to re-arrange themselves if you log off and come back some time later.

There are some wondrously naive posters on the NS site in general, people who are 'great fans of science' but unclear on the concept at times. Then again, that's where the breakthroughs sometimes come from, so we should be tolerant.

  • The bits – 1s and 0s – of data in racetrack memory are stored in the tiny magnetic domains of a very thin U-shaped wire.

Just make sure the Chinese Government doesn't see this because I could get in a lot of trouble but I managed to sneak into the IBM labs and get a photo of this top secret device ...

If you go to the root of their domain, quantumalternative.com (NOTE: You need to have JavaScript on for any links on that site to work), you can see it's still for sale, except there're two models now: QXCI ($13,000) and EPFX ($18,000). The EPFX is supposed to have more features, and it "will use the newer, faster, smoother USB Cable Interface rather than the almost outdated parallel interface." (direct quote, bold added by me) (link to that for more WTFs) Also, it took significant effort to find out how much the dumb thing costs!

And 22 reasons to buy it. Look at reason #22: @from the dumb site said:

Upon receipt of the funds, we will purchase your computer, activate the program, and ship it to you for a nominal additional fee.
WTF is this supposed to mean??? It would appear that they're offering to take your money and your computer from you, install their software on it and then ship it back after you pay them even more...?

I saw a tv show about the owner of that or a similar company a while ago.  He lived in a multi-million dollar mansion somewhere in Europe.

Having quickly scanned the quacks site, I had a good idea what I'd find if I did that, and wasn't in the right mood ! I've just had a quick look now, and it is hilarious, worth further digging.

Being charitable, I suppose it could just mean they supply the computers, but they don't hold stock, just buy them in as needed.

You have to admire their gall, and the carefully crafted collection of buzzwords to reel in the gullible. Check out the terminology section if you've got a strong stomach. I'll be using Subspace Polymorphic Communication for all future emails ;)

This is more sad than hilarious. People getting conned like this lowers my opinion of humanity all around (both regarding conscience and intelligence). I've met a guy who tried to tell me about morphogenetic fields, quantum physics and "activating your DNA through meditation". Nauseating.

  • In the "Terminology" section

    <font face="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular" size="4">"Phase Disturbances
</font><font face="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular">Phase disturbances reflect disturbances in information and energy exchange. These can be measured and balanced with the device."</font>

Phase disturbances? You mean my body can turn to a liquid or gas, and this machine can detect it? Amazing!
