That's why I always use proper messages even if I know it will be changed later. I can't count the number of times my messages ended up in production. Maybe a lot of those are because my messages were good enough that they didn't need to be changed, but I know for sure that a lot of the time it's because these small things get overlooked as deadlines approach and both management and programmers worry about the major issues.

I'm reminded of the code I wrote for "Please Name This Feature," which was the official name of the blasted thing right up until beta. Everything related to the feature in the code is labled pntf instead of something more useful. At least it got a good giggle out of the customers that chose to read the source, even if the implementation sucked.
