Discourse (being the most awesome software ever) can OneBox (the bestest idea to ever be idea'd) itself. And it is always 100% useful!

Well, does it recursively cause cooties?

Can't be any worse than oneboxing /t/1k

Old news, but discosearch is less than helpful in finding the previous incarnation.

As expected, old conversations are a to.... {sigh} I think I just had Discofatigue. Or FuckDiscoFatigue. Seriously, fuck Discourse. Can we please bring the new forums online?

Well, does it recursively cause cooties?
When it loads the content of the Onebox, yeah. I don't think it does once it's baked into the post unless the post gets refried or edited.
-
That's not recursive. This is recursive:

Closer, but still not right. Try this:

Now try doing that on /b/.
I've done it before, but it's not easy.

That's not recursive. This is recursive:
I took the OP to mean "You made post X which OneBoxes your Post Feed? What if your Post Feed contains Post X, which contains a onebox to your post feed which contains post X which contains a onebox..."
-
Should we file a bug on meta.d that oneboxing to another discoinstance won't correctly render the onebox on the linked to post? Or is that just mean?
-
Feel free. But don't be surprised if your post is deleted or you get banned. Or both. Probably both.

you get banned
You. And your children. And your children's children. And your friends. And your parents. And your siblings. And your vague associates. And ...

The way that the onebox gets baked directly into the post means that even if the one box can reference your post stream with that post already posted, there still isn't any possibility of an infinite recursion: the onebox is a blob of static html that represents the state of your post stream at the time the post was baked.
Besides, I think the profile's post stream strips out HTML formatting, so it's just a blob of static text anyway.

Hmm I wonder what happens if your profile contains a link to your profile...

Your profile ends at so is that a recursion starting? (edit: or lemon whatever the fuck)

Looks like discotruncation to me. Of course, now I'm wondering what the MD5 of my profile page is...
