I don't even .... At least I'm now unconfuzzled, just once again amazed at how Discourse goes out of its way to reject perfectly valid input that doesn't follow its arbitrary rules for being "civilized."

If you put a resized image in the summary, it hides it using CSS. Which means that I can do this:

-shrug- it is for discourse, and every IE/HTML5/details shim i've ever used treats it as required as well.
it might not be de jure required but it's probably best to treat it as de facto required.
