Presumably that would make more sense on a forum where people are more likely to use something approximating their real names.
I don't think people here use email replies enough to be worth optimizing the display name for abuse.

My adblock filter grew several dozen times in size since I started blocking those overlays.

Annoying, aren't they? I think some sites are using random IDs to make it difficult to do that.
In particular, I think Wikipedia's doing it with their ad because I made an adblock rule during their last campaign, but I still keep seeing 'em.

I block by class. Or nested class. Or div under some class. The fact that almost all websites have all divs wrapped in other divs at least three layers down makes it trivial.

Ugh, I probably meant class, too, but I appear to have deleted the rule so I can't tell. I recall while using the F12 tools at various times, seeing elements with classes and/or ids that look like random strings, which is what I was thinking of.

They use some parsing library from Github. There was talk of forking it and adding some Discoimprovements but not sure if that happened.
