Get Baal Out of the Car

The other day I was driving out of the garage that sits below my apartment building. A sign on the garage door made me take a double-look:
"Don't leave your vehicle idol"
I'll have to remember to remove Baal from my car.

Technically I think they were reminding you to take you vehicle idol with you when you left.
For some reason my company gives every new hire a foam cow that moos when you squeeze it. I should totally paint mine gold.

Back when we were a private company, the "Marketing Specialist" (the owner's wife), kept buying all those gimmick items. One that we got was a blue foam star with the company logo on it. After I completed development of the new internal help desk system and got everyone switched to it, she bought cases of foam vans that have the company logo on the side and the system's name on the top. She was going to include it in a mailing that announced "improved service" due to the new system. We went through the first merger (and name change) shortly thereafter, so we were stuck with all those vans. I should've rescued more than one for myself and painted them. I didn't think of that at the time, though.

Reminds me of the local Lone Star Steakhouse, who, when the Tennis tournament is in town (forget which one, but it's in Cincinnati), has a sign out front that says
"Welcome" Tennis Fans
with actual double quotes around the "Welcome." A comedian made fun of another sign that did this, and I'm going to quote it, even though my quote may not be correct.@Some Comedian said:

I was an english major in college. I know what quotation marks mean. Either they're being facetous, or they're quoting another sign

At least according to the law here, what you did was fine - if the price on the product states 0,25 cents, they're required to sell you for that price.

It's got nothing to do with demons, it's just a missing comma. "Idol" is their pet name for you:
"Don't leave your vehicle, idol"
You should be flattered - it's a bit like being told "Don't leave your vehicle, stud"!
