Guessing thedailywtf URLs for fun and profit

  • Right, with the MFD being all that popular, I was having some fun. I really liked the ideas of the comics, but the punchlines could be a bit better. The art doesn't have to be great in my opinion, it's about the *fun*, but the fun could be better ;). Anyways, this post is not about my opinion.

So I was looking at a MFD. This one:

That's not the WTF, but look at the URL: http://img.thedailywtf.com/images/mfd/mfd8_adcbfa155bb3_2.png.

It's easy to guess another URL: http://img.thedailywtf.com/images/mfd/mfd8_adcbfa155bb3.png . And indeed:

Actually, I like the second (hidden) one better :P

  • The "second" cartoon is the original submission of the MFD author. The strip that was posted is a user submission that made it more amusing. Check the MFD thread for the whole discussion and more user created cartoons. (I still love the hot sauce one best.)

  • I know about the user created content, but you're saying they *replaced* the original comic with a user-created one? I find that kinda hard to believe ;).

And I've never seen the first one online. And the second one isn't in the comments either...

  • IIRC, Alex previewed the original version in the MFD thread in General Discussion, but the released version was slightly modified.

I knew I should've been suspicious when I found it funny.

I prefer the Zen one.  "The book is large.  I desire it."
