Clone a disc in Windows 7
-
I need to copy a DVD, and the only machine I have with a working drive is a Windows 7 machine where I don't have the administrator password. Is there any safe cloning software that does not require an administrator to use?

ImgBurn is portable and doesn't require Admin rights, so long as you're in a Console session (i.e. physically at the machine you're running on).

If you want to solve that problem easily then NTOfflinePasswordReset is what I use to fix machines like this (not much use if it isn't your machine to do this too though).

Indeed. This is a section from the FAQ:
Why can't I access my encrypted (EFS) files after resetting the password?
That's problematic to say the least.

Boot a Linux USB.

I think there's some sort of recovery mechanism for EFS that you can store separately, hopefully anyone using it would have set that up.
I only encrypt backups currently (they go off-site) so I haven't had to deal with anything like that.
