TDWTF is bad, bad, bad!
-
When connecting with the source of my daily abusive insight, I was confronted with this:
Link to the detailed report: https://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=what.thedailywtf.com
-
Well the entire archive is pretty deserving of one giant "Ssssshhhhhhh, don't give them any ideas!"
-
Please! You must include the detailed report too!
-
Does a certain Korean company have shares in Symantec?
-
Yeah, I noticed that and kicked myself for not getting it. I will try clearing cookies etc, but I fear Norton won't pop it up again.
-
There you go.
-
I clicked the threat name. Twice, even. I'm still not enlightened.
-
What's that location anyway? @apapadimoulis
-
Thanks @hifi,
Apparently, TDWTF is officially an annoyance:
-
What's that location anyway?
Seems to be a 1x1 GIF. Tracking pixel, then.
Apparently, TDWTF is officially an annoyance:
Have you checked what software we're running recently? Are you even surprised?

Paging @Site_Owner
-
Just one annoyance?
EDIT: Even the goddamned smileys here annoy me!
-
Precisely my thought. A little further digging gave this:
Annoyance factors
Items that don't necessarily do harm, but are a nuisance, such as joke programs or a site that isn't what it seems. What do they mean "we don't do harm"?

I googled SWBPL ... even all hits from Norton didn't bring Tizen.
-
You missed the word "necessarily"
-
Since they can't be bothered to define what SWBPL means, anywhere I can find, I think we should make up our own reverse acronym and post it very widely. The wider the better.
Norton's SWBPL means Site Wouldn't Buy Paid Listing.

I didn't know why I was annoyed while browsing the forums today but finally I know the culprit!
-
Site Was Busy Processing Likes
No, our interpretation of their acronym should be embarrassing for Norton. Since they don't explain what it means, we should provide the most embarrassing possible meaning for them. Something that will go viral.
-
Liked, especially as my other post today was about the effect of this site processing likes.

Site Was "Bitch, Please!" Listed

Norton's SWBPL means Safe Working But Possibly Litigious.
@CoyneTheDup I'm struggling to meet the requirements for this game (and I've had my morning coffee), so you might need to tweak them a bit :)
-
Thanks @hifi,
Apparently, TDWTF is officially an annoyance:
@apapadimoulis - they're on to us!

Safe Web Buggers Panda Lives
-
Man, don't you hate it when SWBPL?
-
SWBPL
According to Acronym Attic, it means Sean Ware Bingo Pajama at Loyo. I couldn't make that up if I tried.
-
Where's the detailed report?
-
https://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=what.thedailywtf.com
There you go.
Quoted for @blakeyrat
-
Well it being missing from the first post is really an annoyance.
-
I'll fix it.
-
Then Norton will remove it and there won't be anything to discuss!
-
Norton's SWBPL means Safe Working But
PossiblyProbably Litigious. That's obviously not us. Fixed.
-
I have just noticed, whilst trying to glean more information from "their" report, that the little thumbnail of this illustrious law (not sure which, but there must be one) abiding website / community is yesterday’s Front Page with this Article:
(which don't seem to Onebox, in preview any-ways) ERROR_LOL_NOT
-
not sure which, but there must be one
Hey, we're happy to follow the laws of the community. For example, E_LAW_NOT_FOUND, E_LAW_NOT_FOUND, null, NUL, and nil!
And I almost forgot
null law Law
,0
and'0'

Thanks @hifi,
Apparently, TDWTF is officially an annoyance:
Just goes to show, again, why after-the-fact Virus/Malware "Security" applications are a huge freaking waste of time, money, and resources (not to mention the fact that the vast majority of them face-plant and give up the ghost on zero-day exploits, which means they fail at the main reason most people have them installed in the first place). They are better than nothing for grandma, but for anyone following best practices, they are simply not worth it.
-
Well, if we just removed discourse the annoyance would be gone.
-

If only the OS was designed with security in mind, instead of bolted on after.
-
If only the OS was designed
with security in mind, instead of bolted on after.to guarantee its market share among casual users would stay so low that the malware writers wouldn't bother to target it
-
Just one annoyance?
Well, since Discourse is a One Page App...
SWBPL
It's a mnemonic checklist you run pre-sex. "Safe Word. Butt Plug. Lube"

Not really sure how that is an "annoyance". And it seems to leave the purple dildo out.
-
So Windows Phone is safe then ?
-
And I almost forgot null law Law, 0 and '0'
You forgot
low
. Because FNG @accalia'd and it can't be fixed.
-
Not as safe as that Ubuntu based phone
-

Norton's SWBPL means Site Wouldn't Buy Paid Listing.
I think Symantec Norton's SWBPL means Site Wouldn't Buy Protection License.
Filed under: Nice site you have there. It would be a shame if anything happened to it.
