Kaspersky for $200

  •  I know that some of the freelancer, outsourcing projects (like build me an OS) were mocked on this site before, but I just had to share this with you. I'm just amazed of the oportunism this people demonstrate.

"Hi, I want to know if you can create a software antivirus to detect and remove viruses upto date.IN SIMPLE WORDS A COMPLETE ANTIVIRUS JUST LIKE ANY OTHER ANTIVIRUS -AVG, KASPERSKY AND QUICK HEAL. I want it be like any normal antivirus and security of it is important. I also want to know how often can be the antivirus update. Specifications: 1.- the software, must have the antivirus data-base most common and updated. 2.- the software have a easy download. 3.- I accept advice and suggestions to do this work in a better way, if some bidder has better advices. and the software runs on Microsoft platforms."

This are the complete requirements for the project! For $200! If anybody is interested...

  • Just send him the executable for an obscure freeware AV package, along with some random lines of meaningless code as 'source'. Then give the two hundred bucks to someone who deserves it more than the twat who posted the job. Or to me.

  • Wow? $200 for an anti-virus. That's a lot to be paid.

(For reference, I'm using the time-tested coding statistic of building Windows XP = $100)

It's a pretty good statistic. If it cost more than that to make a Windows  XP, then they wouldn't make enough profit selling them for $100-$200, depending on edition.
