Last day on the job, so better post one WTF snippet
-
In java:
if (value instanceof java.util.Date) {
AssertUtils.assertTrue(value instanceof java.util.Date);
//etc
}(Where AssertUtils is indeed the WTF-ey homegrown version of the assert statement that works more or less as "expected".)
-
Is this an instance where the homegrown version works less than expected?
-
Gotta watch that JVM... you never know when it will take it into its head to switch objects just for the hell of it.
-
No, to answer your oil spill question, only socialists and communists trying to evade the law set up such funds. No prior example is needed. Marx has given the current government the template it needs.

Does the US have a Bhopal/Exxon Valdez/Piper Alpha fund or similar that could act as a model?
Don't be retarded. Those happened to brown people, Alaskans and Europeans. Nobody cares about them.
Also, it's Communist to enforce civil law. Your signature sounds like it came right out of the mouth of Karl Marx.

I expect it to fail miserably.

Mike Rutherford, actually.

It's quite obvious the guy just doesn't have faith in the if statement in Java. What you therefore need to do is see if the assert statement itself is also using an if statement to test the condition, and there lies in TRWTF.

Close enough.

Good point; of the three only one would be relevant to the US's interests. And even then, the US mostly just tries to forget Alaska exists, so I guess none are.
