Slashdot - message not found; ad found

  • This was a litte amusing to me. I don't know what's up with Slashdot right now - when you click on a message's ID number, you pull in that message as parent, along with the moderations, you know. For some reason, it's not showing any content, but in one instance I did get an appropriate ad:

  • I suppose this is your way of saying that you don't have anything to say?

  • I'm just waiting for the obligatory reverse anonymization.

  • ♿ (Parody)

Nothing to see here.  Move along.

I just have to ask; was that entirely from working with the image?

I have to think of something suitably hard if I ever want to post a screenshot like that, black boxes are no fun. ROT13-ing a JPEG maybe?

    Opened Paint Shop,
    zoomed in,
    turned up the contrast,
    looked like "OakDragon"
tried "OakDragon" Arial bold 10pt -- too big
tried "OakDragon" Arial bold 9pt -- pixels all matched
searched google for slashdot oakdragon -- many results
    saved,
    posted.

You're so mean. That guy isn't SpectateSwamp, you know?

But yeah, maybe he should have used a different brush. Something ... that ... doesn't, like... fade, maybe.

That is really good. I considered not even blurring it at all, then thought "why give away information when you don't have to." Wow. Anyway, that's me! I thought I had it disquised better.

  •  I hope I'm not being mean...

I wouldn't post stuff if it were truly sensitive information. But in either case, the information is already there... I'm just making it clearer.

Hopefully the benefit of people learning to hide stuff better will outweigh the cost of me being a big ol' jerk.
