Better delete this thread before somebody gets ideas like.... ...free subscription, but a not so small charge will be made for each post... with an additional surcharge should you get a reply, comment or "like" etc. as implemented by a very specific, but obscure EULA Clause

Be careful what you order.
Scamming people is common practice in some restaurants, but you can't overdo it or people will actually refuse to pay (makes me wonder if the customer was actually at fault here, I have no idea how much prawns go for in China).
If you go to Rome, for example, or any other city with more tourists than locals, pay attention to the prices, or you might accidentally order a coffee that costs 15€ instead of 1.5€.
Personally, I think if you're selling something for more than a "reasonable level" you should be required to explicitly say the final cost to the client.

hehe.... that reminds me of a local restaraunt.
they go by the name of "Three Dollar Deweys"* and they sell a bottle of wine that's three dollars, and they sell the same bottle of wine for three thousand dollars.
The two bottles of wine are marked on the menu almost exactly the same, except the three grand one is labeled "deluxe edition" both entries in the menu also have a "see also" note that mentions the other one.
The deal with the wait staff is that if anyone buys that three grand bottle of wine while they are still under the legal driving limit the wait staff gets to keep the extra 2,997$.
It's happened a few times, and i'm only aware of it happening once where the person wasn't in on the joke. They struk the bottle of wine off the tab entirely in that case (basically comped him the bottle as a "we're sorry you weren't in on that joke. have the bottle on the house instead" sort of thing)

Can't be, we proclaimed. Everything in this country is massively expensive so I can't see why whisky is going to be a bargain.
So Brian asks the waiter - "is this 12 year old Macallan really [$2] a go?". "Yes", he replied, "it is $2 per milliletre". So a small one would have cost us $70 a glass - bullet dodged

whenever they order the 3k$ one...... maybe?
i'm not sure if they make it breathalyze or just manager discretion on that requirement.
