It was a game show, wasn't it? Contestants had to guess how much a car cost, or something like that...

Contestants had to guess how much a car cost, or something like that...
Some of guessing games were pretty hard unless you had fairly specific knowledge of the product you were guessing about, but there was one they didn't use very often, probably because it was trivially easy to win if the contestant didn't get so excited that he/she weren't paying attention to what he/she was doing. The contestant guessed a price, and the host said "higher" or "lower" — simple binary search.
