DiscoDate Bugs

Continuing the discussion from In other news today...:
Last I knew, we were not using Discourse in 2012...unless they finally got around to making the number mean a day (like normal people do) instead of a year.
-
WAD. Sep '12 would mean September 2012. Sep 12 means 12th of September of whatever Disco-year.
-
That's
Sep 12
vsSep '12
. Discofuckbag would represent the post being in 2012 as the latter.Yes, they're easily confused and not very obviously different, but Jeff.
-
I don't think I've ever noticed an apostrophe before, which is why I was so confused in the past when everything always happened on the 14th of each month.
-
I didn't say it was a GOOD design, just ya know. Discopope-raisans.
-
To give an example image of the other way:
If only someone could point out the ease of making the mistake between with apostrophe and without, oh wait...
-

-
I override the date format using CSS.
-
Is that something that could get put into the site-CSS? I can't think of a reason not to. In fact, it will enrage the Disco-pope. I encourage it.
-
So you go the extra mile to change that with custom css and then you choose such a retarded date-time format?
-
It's the title text
Idea: Use CSS to override the timestamp's font to a font where ' looks like 20.
-
Y2.1K will love you.
Although, Discourse is only expected to last until 2024 ...

Judging by the way we made Cuntwood's ego implode probably not even that long.As for dates. This relative date thing is retarded. Just store it as UTC and let the browser convert it to the users timezone.
-
OMG, All this time! And they (and all the others) have been Doing It Wrongβ’!

a.post-date > span.relative-date:after { content: " [" attr(title) "]"; }
Welcome to 1.5.0.beta1, anyway - I'm sure you can find something else to take your mind off this...
-
-
Can we take the banner down?
It was taken down within 30 seconds of the site coming back up.
CtrlF5
You've been around here long enough to know how these things don't work.

Does changing language to "uk" change the date format?
-
Relatedly - didn't atwood want to change the language names to proper words instead of non-descriptive shorthands?
-
instead Discoursistent of non-descriptive shorthands?

Why would he do that? That would be actual function work instead of repainting the bike shed.
-
repainting the bike shed.
Whenever everyone says that I just get a mental image of the baseball a guy painted for 40 years
