Been avoiding the article topics?

They are literally the most boring part of this forum.
-
They were until you posted this.
-
Just doing my part to help.
-
You're an idiot.
The articles are the main reason why this site exists!
(Although, I found the comment section more fun before Discourse)
-
Have they gotten better again?
I fell out of the loop with all the ninja ones.

The one successful and fifteen unsuccessful attempts to be frist aside, yeah, I guess so.
-
Who would have thought that using bad forum software would end the spam.

What site? There's some site attached to this forum?
-

Even spammers don't want to use dickhorse. That says something.

Have they gotten better again?
Heard that Stachowski guy writes some really good stuff. He's also got one incredibly handsome author photo.
-
The photo is missing something.
-
-
... Is that a hatting I see before me?

They show up now and then. But also, the discodevs have actual spam countermeasures. Certainly more than the old homebrew front page did (it wasn't even CS).
-
MSPaint.... YMMV
-
Didn't we have Akismet pissing off everyone?
-
Eh...maybe. Honestly, I very rarely went to the front page comments. But here there is no anonymous posting, so there's that.
-
Yes, instead of people posting discotoasters there constantly were posts ending like "Akismet this is not spam. Captcha: warblegarble".
I believe we haven't improved, at least the captcha's introduced some variety...

luctus!

Didn't we have that, even after disco?
Did someone want anonymous posting? Why not Zoidberg?
-
of course it's not completely anonymous.... You still need to be a discourse user and at least TL1 to use that feature.... and the admins can look at Zoidbbergs PMs to see who has been naughty if they need to....

Well done sir, have a

I like the articles but can't be bothered with the article topics.
You're right, the comments were definitely better pre-Discourse.

And when having with most interesting persons.

Can I try?

Interesting.

It is true I've cut back a lot recently...
-
And when having with most interesting persons.
Having with most interesting persons is not being interesting to me. Whether actual idiot or just annoying troll, most interesting person with broken English is (probably) the only person that I would mute if he were still active here.

7 posts scuttled to an existing topic: Zoidberg

Even Blakey liked the guy.
-
Where did he go?
It was Nagesh right?
But wasn't that like a reverse sock puppet?
-
a reverse sock puppet it's one where you can see the sewings?
if so, my code for translator is an example
-
Nah, it's one where instead of someone making a bunch of accounts and using them.
It's one account that a bunch of people use.

It's one account that a bunch of people use.
I think a bunch of people may have used the name Nagesh to post (not logged in) on the old front page, but I don't remember anyone ever suggesting that the logged-in Nagesh account was ever used by more than one troll, either here or the old forum.

Even Blakey liked the guy.
For some reason, I don't find that to be such a glowing recommendation.

We are starting to get the occasional one or two these days - but some of their spam is so obvious even the software notices.... (of the ones that get through, it appears that a single TL3 flag is sufficient to hide them.)
