Fun with captcha parameters

I recently figured out how to send arbitrary text to the captcha generator on this forum.
A description of how the captchas are generated is at [url]http://forums.worsethanfailure.com/forums/thread/77825.aspx[/url].

It changed font and background while I'm typing this.
Does it accept that input?

Why doesn't it work for me? I base64'd some text, then rot13'd it, then tried it out. It resulted in something similar to what Mal1024 got. :(

It might have something to do with the UCS2 encoding, perhaps?

Ah, good catch :)
:D
I wonder if it would be worthwhile to make a greasemonkey script to decode the captcha, and automatically fill it in both in the captcha box and in the message body as "captcha: ..."

Ah, so it wasn't just me. I have HTTP redirection turned off (Opera), so looking at off-site images sometimes involves a certain amount of jumping through hoops. In addition to that, the captchas are apparently sent as "img/jpeg", which is a WTF in itself, so they won't display if you simply paste the address. I imagine it works when loaded from an img tag, but still.
After going through the trouble of saving the damn thing to disk and opening it (I tried with the first in the thread), all that came out was a purple smudge...
