I don't think it is about the use of CAPS, idiotic or otherwise. I think it is about the intent behind the use of them. Either that, or somebody has some serious issues about the caps-lock key (who doesn't?).

I SEEM TO REMEMBER THAT THE ALL CAPS RESTRICTION CAN BE CIRCUMVENTED BY HAVING LOWERCASE LETTERS SOMEWHERE IN THE CONTENT, SUCH AS IN EMPTY HTML TAGS.

I've been making all-caps titles by using lowercase L's for I's. But now I might adopt this capitalize every other letter method, because it actually looks more obnoxious than all-caps. Thanks Gaska!

So what you are all saying is: The ALL CAPS thing is pointless as it is easily circumvented, and if we don't have ALL CAPS @blakeyrat is going to continually rip out eyes out from the inside by adopting @Gaska's iDiOt CaSe as his default font / style.

Technical Query: Do spaces count for the alternation of capitals? Or do alternate words start with alternate caps, no-caps? Or should each word start with what is "normal" (i.e. proper nouns, sentence starts etc) and alternate from there?

That's what I thought, so I googled it the other day. The Almighty Big G did'nt know what an insensitive clot was (something to do with stuck up blood?), so it suggested clo D instead...

When is spite not called for?

My favorite Simpsons joke is when Bart got a Big Brother because his dad is so awful, and the Big Brother turned out to be this really cool guy. So to get revenge, Homer signs up for the Big Brother program too. When it's in the office doing the interview to sign up, the woman asks him, "why did you decide to join the Big Brother program?" and the little voice in Homer's brain goes, "don't say 'spite', don't say 'spite'." Then he says "spite".

But that's not the real punchline. The camera shows us the form the woman's filling out, and "spite" was such a common response that they have a pre-printed checkbox for it.
