A most helpful tip-of-the-day

  • I'll now always remember to set RunAtStartup to true when I'm adding inherited forms to the application.

  • Did you know...

that you can use the deflector shields to open a worm hole if you reverse the polarity?

Of course I did.  Any problem can be solved through judicious application of reversing the polarity of the deflector shields.

  • There isn't a problem that can't be fixed by reversing the polarity. Or setting the RunAtStartup to true in the inherited form.

Anybody remember that one episode of Batman (Adam West era), where the Penguin caught him in some trap where he was chained up with Iron chains, and a giant electromagnet was slowly pulling the chains (and therefore batman) to certain doom?  He reversed the polarity on the magnet, turning it into an anti-magnet, which repelled him and Robin to safety.

That's way cooler than anything Geordi could have done.

  • But wait, what about the Deceon field!?

Bah... Batman would never think to remodulate the phase discriminator, recalibrate the decryption algorithm, or create a virtual girlfriend on the holodeck to talk hormones and starship design.

Bah.... Janeway was too lazy to think for herself. She created a virtual DaVinci in the holodeck to solve all her problems.

Who gets credit for creating Dr. Moriarty?  Geordi for being the one who instructed the computer to do so?  The Computer itself for being smart enough to actually do it given such little input?  Or did some holodeveloper get fired for not putting in the proper safeguards?

  • Who said the safeguards where bad? I mean, they did manage to collaboratively defeat him both times. The safeguards could have been smart enough to realize that would happen.

  • But did you reverse the polarity of the neutron flow?

  • Wait, set the bool to either true or false?

So if I don't want the popup, I set the bool to FileNotFound?

  • Yes and no.

  • That's a definite maybe.

  • Well, it clearly says "Set the value to EITHER true or false". So if you don't want the popup, you set it to truefalse.
