Unstable push advert utility
-
I have Windows live messenger. I saw the following advert which is a piar of sissors in a animated 'snapping' action. When i roll over the advertisement (and this one only) windows messanger bombs out with a 'send error report'.
TRWTF is that i thought the sissors where on a wooden table, but they are actually cutting hair.........

At one point I got so fed up with those messenger ads I actually added the server to the HOSTS file, and made any requests redirect to 1.1.1.1 :)

i have no got rid of it for pidgin

"piar of sissors" - that brightened my Friday :)
(should be 'pair of scissors')

ok, how do you know that isn't a wooden table made up to look like hair?

I once ended up routing mine through the AdBlocker proxy. These days I have the luxury of barely having enough time to use any IM.

I need to find a way to get that address routing to me. I could make a fortune! Then all that's left is 0.0.0.0 :)

I'm pretty sure using loopback times out a lot faster, which will generally result in a much more favorable browsing experience.
Compare: http://1.1.1.1/nosuchpage to http://127.0.0.1/nosuchpage

Only if you don't have a webserver on your computer.

I run a dev web server on my PC, and the loopback ended immediately with a 404.
