TOKYO, June 24, 2015 - Luxury automotive brand Lexus has partnered with world leading experts in super conductive technology to create one of the most advanced Hoverboards ever developed.

    Pretty cool.

Testing this summer in Barcelona, Spain. Maybe @Eldelshell can check it out in person? 😃

  • Read about something like this in yesterday's Metro. Normally I never read it, but somebody wanted to play a game on my mobile and I was left with nothing to do for the hour it took to get out of Manchester City Centre (and if you knew how small Manchester City Centre is, you would appreciate the sarcasm in this).

I am reminded of the "parallel" evolution of the Daleks: Initially they could only move along metal strips, and all you had to do was push them off of it and they would be helpless (then you could spin them round until they exploded). So, they evolved to be able to move on any flat surface, Again, simply defeated by stepping up a few steps until they "learnt" to "hover higher"....

  • Looks like the magic smoke is trying to get out... this won't end well.

  • That #AmazingInMotion hashtag is a little ironic considering there's no footage of it in motion.

  • Last I looked at these hoverboard things that actually worked, it needed a special surface.

Now we have to put hoverboard compatible freaking sidewalkwayz besides the solar freaking roadways and under every solar freaking parking lots in our society of the future.

  • Daleks I tell ya! Daleks!

  • This one needs a special surface, and also to be cryogenically frozen. It might make a themepark ride in another decade. For all I know, Lexus just filmed a prop.

Other than that, it's just buying free advertising from lazy journalists who'll mention the Lexus brand 30 times if you give them a ready-to-publish "interest" article.

  • The chief engineer was probably misquoted... "There's no such thing as impossible, it's just a matter of figuring out how [much money people are willing to throw at something]".

Filed under: reality might disagree, though

Probably condensation from the liquid nitrogen cooling. It will end when all the liquid nitrogen boils away.
