Lock combination 1234

I recently found my bike lock and I forgot the password. After numerous tries I did the combination 1-2-3-4 and it unlocked. Does anyone know how this happened. And I clearly remember it not originally being 1-2-3-4, and I know no one changed it. I just really confused. Don't ask for a brand the brand, it doesn't show. It's just a crimson red cable, plastic black lock cover, and white numbers.

Some time back my gas line was locked because I didn't pay it. Anyway, the gas line was closed and then a plastic cover with a lock was placed. Next day I wanted to take a shower and started to play around with the lock... Didn't take me long to get the 0-0-0-0 combination.

You might try other weak combinations...maybe they work, too. Maybe the lock is just...ineffective.
