Gmail's "context-sensitive" ads

Macintosh filetype codes are four-byte integers, traditionally expressed as if they were four consecutive MacRoman-encoded characters. This makes specifying them in UTF-8-encoded plist files something of a challenge.
This was the context of the following Gmail ads.

I saw ones on the front page of here, quite recently, advertising bi-sexual dating sites. I couldn't figure out why.
