"The speed is constrained by how fast you can press the buttons. "

damn those fast cpu's nowadays, I really want to have another sip of coffee before my 2+2 answer is revealed.

  • A further WTF will be if someone actually pays for this. 14 bucks just for a calculator that's more usable?

  • Agreed! Thats how wicked the software business for mobile is, I mean, you can download python for fricking free on this platform (Symbian S60)... say no more about calculating power... ok granted, GUI and usability count some creds, but paying an amount equally, say , half of the retail price of a multibillion funded game ($30), and get a calculator? man, I must be in the wrong business... I programmed solitaire in 2 days on J2ME just for fun.

  • Additionally, it's a rip-off of this, which is free. And much stylier.

  • Discourse touched me in a no-no place

I see screenshots featuring arithmetic operations (which are accessable on my current phone with the * key) but see no screenshots with number buttons on them.

How do you do 2 + 2, if you can't enter the 2's?

On an unrelated note, how does it handle 131070 / 2 ?

  • arguably, the feature of the application, and the egg of Columbus, is to utilize the additional steering pad of S60 phones with the arithmetic operations (not having tried the application myself, due to the incapability to find reason of the price vs. utility) added with the numeric keyboard found on mobile phones. so at such, I don't see the need for displaying addition buttons with numbers, but, as you say, most phones have means to enter arithmetic functions as plus and minus etc e.g. with the "*" button. but however you enter the arithmetic, f.ex. 2 times pushing the "*", the speed of the result will _still_ be determined how fast you push the buttons, IMHO.

I dont know how it handles 131070/2, or 850*77.1, but actually I bet it outperforms the precision of excel 2007 in those equations, even not based on how fast you push the buttons.

  • "Exact and fast calculations"

This makes me want to build a calculator app that gives wrong answers, but in proportion to the number of digits being calculated.  2+2 would equal 4, but 59821.7 / 6 would give 6928.1333.  The idea being that most people would never know it was wrong.  That should have been my OMGWTF contest entry...

Check out how the calculator works in the Motorola RAZR series of phones. I think it's way better than that, no joystick involved.

  • The real WTF is that I still get Symbian confused with Sybian
