Entities render in preview, but not in saved result
-
When you use an entity such as ½ in the topic window, it renders in the preview window (see below). But when you save the post, as you can see, it renders as the entity text (note previous in this sentence).
Don't care which way this goes, but I should see what I'm going to get.

½ (see raw)
Quick skimming of the results on google never references ½, Why it renders in preview I have no idea.

For some reason, some (but not all) entities render fine in the Preview Window, but not in Cooked. You can copy them out of the Preview into the raw post though...

Hmm..., so ™ actually works now... that's new... (I'm sure, or maybe I'm going crazy...)

I'm pretty sure we discovered (somewhere, possibly the Likes thread) that it is Ember "sanitizing" out the non-standard but still valid entities.
Note to self, don't try to do a Discosearch in the Likes thread from an iPad unless I want to see the whole thread in reverse. Meaning Discourse still sucks royally on iOS.

It worked for me for as long as I remember.

I fairly sure it hasn't worked for me in the past—I've had to ninja edit a

If I can run a Dwarf Fortress 3D visualizer written in Go in my browser with no strange goings-on, I see no reason why Discourse should have so much trouble running its post cooker written in JavaScript in a browser.

it's not even wrong…
I disagree. It can be tested and we already falsified the claim that Discourse is a quality product.

Well, yes, now that you mention it, this is not a standard entity. I should have been using ½ (½) -- ½ was a brain glitch on my part. When I save this we'll see if that renders as character plus graphic, or entityentity + entity.
Edit: So correct entities render correctly. The reason it didn't work is because the older ½ didn't get filtered out during preview.
