  • Awesome !

  • So is the real WTF the terrible data model that requires a query like that, or is it the fact that this guy can't read exception messages?

Take your pick. He's also an idiot for not seeing that the query is becoming ridiculously convoluted and increasingly harder to debug.

Bah, by the looks of it, the bulk of that beast was autogenerated. He probably tried a 'simple' change and threw his hands up when it didn't work.

  • HOLY MOTHER OF GOD !!!    >_<

That many joins, select distincts, etc, would make me wanna puke if it was up to me to manage. I don't care if it was auto-generated. That thing needs to be optimized.. stat!

  • I'm glad that het got a proper reply, in any case.

  • My eyes!  The goggles do nah-ting!

  • My eyes!!!  The goggles do nothing!!!

EDIT:  Damn... beat me to it.

Either it took you over 8 minutes to write that one line, or you just didn't read the thread. Old humour is old.

If you're going to spell it "humour," I'm afraid we'll have to insist you also render "old" as "olde."  Then, while you're at it, in keeping with the overall 18th century tone of the quote, we'll require that you use the then-current notation for lower-case "S," leading to  "Olde humour iƒ olde."

Thank you for your prompt attention to, and compliance in, this matter.

Actually it did in fact take me over 8 minutes to write that one line.  I opened the page, got distracted by some actual work here at work (a rarity) and came back and posted my joke.  And the Simpsons never gets old... it's timeless.

Perhaps he says "humour" and "neighbour" and whatnot to be olde timey, or perhaps he lives in any country in the world other than the US. You know, the country that thinks its people aren't quite swift enough to spell "cheque"? :P

It's called English outside of the US. Humour = English, Humor = American. We can be bothered to type the extra letter =P

Fair enough, I've had the same happen.

What are you on? Why have you used an italic 'f' instead of a long s? A long s does not have a cross bar, and looks like this: ſ

  • The sad thing is that it took me some concentrated searching to find where the query ended and the exception began...

  • If I ever caught an employee posting stuff like that in a board, he'd be fired immediately. Not only for the WTF itself but also for the "hi I had this error and I am too lazy to read exception messages, could someone do my work for me and fix my problem?" attitude.

  • Eyes?  Ggogles?  What are those?
