Note that the software is known malware, so please don't install it unless you like having malware on your system.. (I ran it in a clean VM (or at least mostly clean))

I don't see it. What's up with it?

Look carefully at the massage-box, not the massage itself.

I can't be arsed to browse through 5,000,000 screenshots.
Cliffnotes pls? Why this thread?
Amazing the trouble they went through to design this app (visually and functionally), if it's malware.

What kind of irritates me is this one. If this malware tried to pull off the usual scam, wouldn't it rather go "SCAN FOUND 2748936358235639 VIRUSES! YOU HAVE AN ESTIMATED 2.8 MINUTES TO PURCHASE OUR REMOVAL TOOL BEFORE YOUR COMPUTER WILL EXPLODE IN A BIG FIERY BALL THAT IS VISIBLE FROM SPACE!"?

Is it 100% malware, or is it e.g. a "real" antivirus program that happens to come bundled with spyware

It's extortion-ware. There are quite a few of these which open browser-locked modal dialogs and you can never be sure that the dialog close box [x] or "Cancel" will work; it's using either ActiveX or Flash to connect to WinAPIs and can do anything it pleases once it pops.
